This Is What Momentum Looks Like

Today I sat with someone I’ve known for a long time—someone who’s been in this industry as long as I have, though we’ve never really talked about what it’s been like from my side. Until now.

I told her what happened at the Plant Home. Not every detail—but enough. And then I said, “If I know for a fact what happened there… imagine what they’re not telling me.”

She didn’t flinch. She got it. Because she’s worked in systems that break down too—big ones. And for the first time, we weren’t just comparing notes. We were building something.

She started naming names. Sharing connections. Mapping the next steps. She said, “Let’s get you in front of the people who need to hear this.”

This is what momentum looks like.

It doesn’t always show up in headlines or hashtags. Sometimes it’s a conversation where the weight lifts. Where someone looks you in the eye and says, “You’re not wrong. Let’s go.”

The truth is, this has been hard. Really hard. The hardest leap I’ve taken might have been yesterday— knowing exactly what it meant to tell the truth, out loud.

But something is shifting. And people are stepping in now—not to fix the story, but to carry it forward.

We’re building. And they’re not stopping me this time.
