There’s Care for Everyone—But You Shouldn’t Have to Fight to Find It
By Kaitlyn Cunningham Morse, Maine Aging Partners
Let me say this clearly: there is care for everyone.
There are solutions. There are people who show up. There are places—some big, some small—where older adults are seen, valued, and supported.
But finding that care? That’s where families get stuck.
Not because they’re doing anything wrong—but because the system makes it hard to do anything right.
We hand people a list of facilities.
We expect them to know what questions to ask.
We throw around words like “assisted” or “independent” or “memory care” as if they mean the same thing everywhere.
And then we wonder why so many families feel overwhelmed, overcharged, and underprepared.
Let me tell you what I’ve learned:
Care exists—but it’s not always accessible.
Compassion exists—but it’s not always consistent.
And choice? Real choice? That only shows up when you know what you’re looking for.
That’s why I started Maine Aging Partners.
Not to scare families.
Not to sell to them.
But to stand beside them—with clear eyes and decades of experience—and help them map out a path forward.
Because if you’ve been told your options are limited, I’m here to remind you:
There’s care for everyone.
It just shouldn’t take a crisis to find it.
